Mariola Yaramova started with piano lessons at the age of 6. She finished a college of music and went on to the National Academy of Music; she graduated from it having specialized in Theory and Analysis of Music. Later on she studied and did a second Master’s degree in Psychology at Sofia University. She started her teaching practice while she was still a student at the Academy. In 1992 she founded a private School of Music which she’s still running; a great number of her students were encouraged and qualified to take up the hard way to the art of music both at home and abroad.
A few months ago I started to sing with a band and I realized it was about time to seriously take up music. It wasn’t an easy task, I had to gain essential knowledge of harmony, sol-fa and playing the piano in very short time. I came across Mariola’s phone number and we made an appointment. Right upon entering the place I was immersed in an entirely different atmosphere – a very special one of art and music; on the front door there was the treble clef, in her study – a large piano and the sound of enjoyable classical music. Mariola lent me a careful ear and was undaunted by my ambition – to the contrary, she gave me that reassuring and cheerful smile of hers and said we’d have a go. She is a hard-working, responsible and devoted teacher. As persevering and exacting as she is, meanwhile she gave me the calm and confidence to do my best. I fully trust her and I feel her as a friend who’s always there to help me. After each lesson I know I’ve made a step forward, learned something new and I’m starting to love music more and more.
Nowadays, few are the teachers to generously offer to their students the treasure and “the secrets” of knowledge gained throughout the years; fewer are the ones who have the pedagogic skills to do that, yet fewer are those who do this from all their heart. Luckily, I was happy to have a teacher who easily combines all these: Mariola Yaramova, a teacher of piano, theory and history of music, classical harmony, polyphony and musical analysis. Thank you for the treasure of knowledge you gave me! Thank you for the support and accomplishments in my career as a musician! Thank you for your cheerful charisma and manner of teaching!
